Brazilian network of Cancer research
A Brazilian network of Cancer research was recently created, as a result of a partnership between several public and one private institutions, with whom Eurotrials has a consolidated partnership, running at the moment 2 clinical studies.
According to the Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Brazilian Health Ministry, the aim of this network is that the results of the basic research are rapidly tested in clinical environment and incorporated in the public health policies.
Currently ongoing is the mapping of genes related to breast cancer and clinical trials with two new therapies developed in Brazil and USA: an antibody that marks tumor cells to be destructed by the immunological system of the patient and a vaccine that stimulates the immunological system to recognize and fight cancer.
